A national healthcare management services organization was faced with changing its legal and security polices around “data privacy” information due to the new regulations directive. Along with other key elements of security, encryption would be a requirement; the client needed to determine the impact this would have on its IT infrastructure.
Solution
Pareo provided an impact analysis study on the effect of encryption on a specific environment’s mainframe, network bandwidth, DASD storage, CPU usage and telecommunications utilization. Areas of analysis included data element, MQ series queue and network encryption. Pareo also developed a formula to assess the impact on other environments within the client enterprise and provided benchmarking and validation of the formula.
Results
The client successfully deployed a best-practice model across the enterprise. With time constraints as a factor, Pareo’s ability to project manage allowed the client to progress effectively and efficiently.
