Challenge

A mid-sized college (900 computers) was struggling with its technology direction and strategy. IT was incapable of supporting the mission of the institution; users were very dissatisfied. The institution’s basic technology was outdated, software projects were exceeding budgets and technology outages were a commonplace occurrence. The organization was also launching a multi-million dollar ERP project and needed high-level expertise.

Solution

Pareo supplied vision and strategy, and a roadmap to success. It supplied a Chief Information Officer (CIO), Director of Operations and a User Liaison. A new strategy enabling the Technology organization to support the mission of the institution was created and executed. In short order, the entire technology organization was restructured, appropriate technologies were deployed, and a streamlined service desk implemented.

Results

The institution’s technology was quickly brought into the mainstream of technology which lowered operating costs. User satisfaction skyrocketed; the effectiveness of the service desk improved markedly. Servers have 24/7 monitoring and are managed remotely. Pareo contributed to a successful ERP implementation that was celebrated campus wide. A new learning management tool was implemented saving the organization tens of thousands of dollars annually.
